Johanna Gustafsson Fürst

Johanna Gustafsson Fürst is based in Stockholm and works with context-based and site-specific installations, which configure and stage the interplay between social situations and architectural structures. The result is a sort of fictional realism and script less drama that come into existence in interaction with the viewer.

Her works deals with the confrontations between different aesthetic and social conventions. These confrontations reveal hidden structures and conflicts, which constitutes a basis for a new understanding of existence. Johanna Gustafsson Fürst works are spatial interventions and spectacles; they create a place that configures and stages these confrontations together with the viewer.
